Overview

Loomiller Neighborhood Park is an existing 15-acre park in west-central Longmont at 1700 11th Ave. The park's land was partially donated to the City in the early 1960s and additional acres were purchased by the City in later years. The park was incrementally developed into a neighborhood park over the course of its history; however, it had no formal master plan to guide its development until 2019. The park is highly used by students, disc golfers, and the neighborhood. It's a beautiful setting with a pond and magnificent views of the Front Range.

Loomiller Park Renewal Plan

The goal of the Loomiller Park renewal project is to develop a park renewal plan for the park and to implement the highest priority upgrades. Park renewal plans are intended to evaluate what currently exists at the park and determine what's working, what's not working, and to maximize the potential and usability of the park. After development of the park renewal plan, upgrades to the park were prioritized for implementation.

Here are highlights of the upcoming improvements:

  • New playground - the old playground will be removed and unavailable during the construction period
  • Disc golf course upgrades and adjustments - the disc golf course will be closed during the construction period
  • Removal of old, unused buildings and renovation of the existing restroom and shelters
  • Additional portable toilet enclosure for year-round use
  • New site furniture, LED light fixtures and signage upgrades
  • Irrigation system upgrades and improvements to landscape beds
  • Improvements to concrete path alignments

The goal of the park renewal project is to create a safe, usable, enjoyable and ADA compliant (American with Disabilities Act) experience for users of Loomiller Park. Your patient is appreciate as these upgrades are implemented.
