Not only are team and individual sports a great way for kids to stay fit and limber, but joining a sports team has well-documented social and emotional benefits, too! Whether your child is a beginner or a seasoned player, our athletics programs, sports teams, classes, and clinics promote holistic well-being for all ages.

Kindergarten Basketball – Longmont Recreation Services offers a Kindergarten Basketball program for boys and girls in both the Spring and Fall.
1st and 2nd Grade Basketball – Longmont Recreation Services offers a coed First and Second Grade Basketball Program in both the Spring and Fall.
Youth Basketball – Longmont Recreation Services offers basketball for youth in grades 3-12. Boys and girls compete separately at each grade level. The registration deadline is mid-December. Practices and games start in January and continue through the first weekend in March.

Fall CARA Cross Country – For boys and girls ages 9-14 years, Longmont Recreation Services’ Fall CARA Cross Country program exposes participants to running long distances in a recreational atmosphere.

Youth Ice Hockey – Longmont Recreation Services is proud to offer the USA Hockey Youth Ice Hockey Program at the Longmont Ice Pavilion for youth ages 5 to 18 years of age.

CARA Swim Team – Longmont Recreation Services offers CARA Swim Teams for youth ages 6 to 18 years at three different sites throughout the year: Centennial Tsunamis CARA, Longmont Recreation Center Piranhas CARA, and Sunset Swordfish CARA.
Drop-in Mondays – Table Tennis is a racket sport. Open play is **6:30-9pm on Mondays at the St Vrain Memorial Building, 700 Longs Peak Ave. Cost is $9 per person. Bring your own paddle if you have one. Children must be supervised by a parent/guardian.
**Play begins at 7:30pm January through mid-March during basketball season.

Tennis Lessons – Longmont Recreation Services offers Tennis Lessons for beginner to advanced beginner adults and youth ages 5 and older.
CARA Tennis – Longmont Recreation Services’ CARA Tennis is a summer team tennis opportunity for youth ages 8 to 18 years.

Youth Volleyball – Longmont Recreation Services offers a coed Youth Volleyball team-participation program for youth in grades 3-8. Fall and Spring Leagues are offered.
Skyhawks Sports programs provide a safe, non-competitive introduction to sports for kids ages 4 to 14. A variety of games and activities are taught during each camp. Kids will learn valuable life skills while having fun!
SuperTots Sports programs give kids ages 2 to 5 an opportunity to play outdoors in a fun,
preschool-based sports environment. We focus on preschool skills like listening, following
directions, sharing, waiting turns, as well as colors, numbers, shapes, sizes and more.
We do it all with a ball!

A variety of camp options include baseball, basketball, golf, cheerleading, flag football, soccer, pickleball, STEM, tennis, lacrosse and track & field.

Kids learn the basics of 10 sports, key gross-motor skills, and an introduction to nutrition and muscle terms. Learn more and register for Amazing Athletes.
The climbing wall is located at the Longmont Recreation Center, 310 Quail Road. Participants of all ages must be able to fit in a harness, sign a waiver, and a parent/guardian must be present for youth under 8 years old. Closed toed shoes required. Use your recreation pass or pay a drop-in fee to participate.

- Badminton – Longmont Recreation Services offers badminton lessons for youth ages 11-18 at the St. Vrain Memorial Building on Sunday nights.
- Fencing – For youth ages 8 through 15, Beginning Fencing is offered at the Longmont Recreation Center with all equipment provided.
- Pickleball – For youth ages 9 through 15, pickleball lessons are offered at Hover Acres Park. All equipment is provided
- Soccer – Longmont Recreation Services offers an 6 week fall and spring intramural soccer program for students attending participating middle schools.
- T-Ball – Longmont Recreation Services provides preschoolers the opportunity to learn how to play sport by teaching the fundamentals of baseball.
- Track – Longmont Recreation Services’ CARA Track exposes participants to a variety of track and field events in a recreational atmosphere during the summer months for youth ages 5 to 16.
