Update on 11/8/24:Â Races have been CANCELLED due to weather.
10K Starts at 9am- upon existing the access road north of Altona Middle School, 10K racers proceed north on Grandview Meadows to the access road south of Silver Creek High School. [10k racers – please note three speed bumps along the route behind Silver Creek High School and utilize caution navigating them.]
2 Mile starts at 9:05am- upon existing the access road north of Altona Middle School, 2mile racers proceed south on Grandview Meadows to Clover Basin Dr.
The starting pad for both the 10K and the 2 Mile has been moved to the access road immediately north of Altona Middle School (on the same road that wrapped toward the finish line in past years–and the where the finish line will again be this year).
This new location will help with race congestion in the early part of the race and get the start off Grandview Meadows and away from parking cars.
Please note that your race time will not start until YOU cross the starting mat.
The only individuals whose starting time begins with the gun start are the few who are competing for overall first female and overall first male in both races: if you are not vying for overall first, thank you for backing up a bit and allowing these folks to have first access at the start.
First through third place finishers will be determined by mat start.

Parking is available at Silver Creek High School, Dry Creek Community Park, and Eagle Crest Elementary School for all. The Altona Middle School parking lot is reserved for sponsors, vendors and volunteers. You can access Dry Creek Community Park driving through the Altona Middle School parking lot.
Plan at least 20 minutes for parking and walking to the school, due to the large numbers of anticipated runners (2,000!). The earlier you arrive, the more chill of a race morning you will have!
In 2024, simply select the shirt at your choice at the Memorial Building. First-come first-served for size selection.
T-shirt sizes are ordered based on last year’s race. T-shirt exchanges can be done AFTER the race in the cafeteria as size availability permits. Race shirts are only guaranteed for racers who pre-register, and may not be available during Friday & Saturday late registration.
Please check your registration receipt to ensure you signed up for the correct t-shirt size.
A chip is embedded within the bib itself – easy! Your time is automatically logged as you cross both the start finish line.
Please make sure you run over the blue timing mats at the start of the race to start your chip!
Pin your bib to the FRONT of your shirt/jacket/racing belt so that it is easily visible throughout your run and as you cross the finish line.
If you are running with a jacket on, please make sure your bib is visible throughout the race and at the finish line.
Please leave your headphones at home for both your safety and that of your fellow racers.
We anticipate high attendance and recommend that dogs are left at home. Please note that dogs are not permitted within the school building.
Please be considerate of other racers when running with a stroller, especially at the crowded start. The adult must be a registered racer. Youngsters in strollers must pay registration fee to receive an event t-shirt and bib; otherwise, there is no additional fee to race with a stroller. All racers pushing strollers must start at the end of the race line-up due to the narrow 2 Mile Course.
Water stations are available on the course and at the finish line. Additional drinking fountains are available in the school before and after the race. Water and post-race beverages will be available for racers at the post-race meal.
Spectators and Racers both are invited to visit the vendors at the vendor village. Racers are invited to partake in a complimentary post-race meal. As the cost is included with the registration fee, bibs will be required to take advantage of the post-race meal.
Prizes will be awarded shortly after the conclusion of the races and winners must be present to collect their award. We regret that prizes are not available for early pick-up by individuals before the formal awards ceremony. Place certificates and gift cards will be retained and available for pick-up at the St. Vrain Memorial Building for one week after the race.
