For more than 110 years, Longmont Power & Communications (LPC) has been dedicated to powering our community with reliable, affordable, and environmentally responsible electric services. As a public power organization, we strive to provide the highest value and benefit to Longmont. Our mission is to connect the community to affordable, reliable, and environmentally responsible electric services.

Electric Utility Services

LPC provides Power For Life™, lighting your homes, your businesses and the streets around your neighborhood. We keep you at the heart of all we do.

We’re your electric service. For over 110 years as your community-owned, not-for-profit electric service, we’ve delivered on a fundamental promise: to provide you with safe, reliable electricity at affordable rates. We’ve been committed to serving our community because we’re part of the community.

Powering a Sustainable Future

With our eyes on the future, we’re taking steps to reduce our reliance on carbon-based fuels and meet ambitious goals set by our community to dramatically reduce greenhouse gas emissions.

One important way we do this is through Efficiency Works, our shared customer engagement organization. Efficiency Works is a partnership between Platte River Power Authority and the communities of Longmont, Loveland, Estes Park and Fort Collins that works with electrical customers to improve their energy efficiency. This assistance includes residential and commercial energy assessments, advising and rebates, helping customers use less energy or make good decisions about how and when they use energy.

Request Service

We offer dedicated services for residential and commercial customers, as well as developers and contractors.

More Power to You

We post once a week with thoughts and tips related to your community-owned electric utility and NextLight service–often with a little fun and humor besides.
