- Required: Please bring your current City of Longmont Trash & Recycle utility bill and identification (Printed or Electronic) to show that you are a City of Longmont resident.
Hours
The cardboard and single stream drop-off bins are available 24/7 for single stream recyclables.
Yard waste, food waste compost, Styrofoam drop-off and metal drop-off areas are open Monday – Saturday from 8 am – 4 pm.
The Center is closed for holidays and may be closed for severe weather events that make access unsafe.
Holiday Closures 2024
The Longmont Recycling Center is closed on Sundays and the following days:
- New Year’s Holiday – Monday, Jan 1
- Martin Luther King Jr Day – Monday, Jan 15
- President’s Day – Monday, Feb. 19
- Memorial Day – Monday, May 27
- Juneteenth Holiday – Wednesday, June 19
- Independence Day – Thursday, July 4
- Labor Day – Monday, Sept. 2
- Veteran’s Day – (Observed Holiday) Monday, Nov. 11
- Thanksgiving Holiday closure – Thursday, Nov. 28, to Saturday, Nov. 30
- Christmas Holiday – Wednesday, Dec. 25
Items Accepted
- Yard waste, including tree limbs and leaves
- Single stream recyclables
- Holiday recycling
- Used automotive and cooking oil (in no larger than one gallon containers and a maximum of 5 gallon per visit)
- Rechargeable batteries
- Food scraps (no bags please)
- White block styrofoam
- Plastic bags
- Scrap Metal
Hazardous Household Wastes

Our easy-to-use Waste Wizard helps you learn how to sort your waste properly, including which items can be dropped at the Longmont Recycling Center. Fees
Incorporated City of Longmont residents have free use of the Longmont Recycling Center for their noncommercial use. Please see the Items Accepted section above for list of materials to bring to the Longmont Recycling Center.
Non-City of Longmont residents, including landscapers, contractors and other hired service companies, can only dispose of tree limbs, branches, leaves and grass at the Longmont Recycling Center for a fee. All other materials will not be accepted. The fee rates are based on material size.
