Make a Suggestion
We welcome your suggestions. Please use this “Make a Suggestion” form or click the button below to suggest a title be considered for addition to our collection, offer a program proposal, or suggest a service you would like the Library to consider providing.
Try our state-wide Library Loan service, Prospector, to potentially find items not in our local Longmont collection here. For items not available through Prospector, our Inter-library Loan (ILL) service may be an option. To use our ILL service, you must be a Longmont resident Library card holder. Please note that new items (published within the last twelve months) cannot be requested through ILL.
Suggested titles are evaluated using our Collection Development Policy [PDF].
Suggesting a title does not guarantee it will be added to the collection. Due to the volume of suggestions we receive, library staff are unable to respond to individual requests.
If you are offering a program proposal, the programming staff will consider it and respond to you if we would like to pursue the program.
As always, we will never sell, give away, or loan your information, but all correspondence with the City does fall under the Open Records Law of Colorado.
Library staff purchase books from commercial publishers and vendors as outlined in our Collection Development Policy [PDF]. We will consider self-published books if they meet our general collection criteria including quality, accuracy, professional reviews, and editing.
If you would like to submit a book or film for our consideration, please use this Authors and Publishers Suggest a Purchase Form, or click the button below.
