Free Bicycle Rodeo on July 18
Free Bicycle Rodeo on July 18
A FREE kids Bicycle Rodeo is being offered through City of Longmont on July 18, 2016. Drop in for one hour between 9 am to noon at Izaak Walton Clubhouse, 18 S. Sunset to partake in the activities. Bring your bicycle and helmet (available for those who do not have them).
What is a Bicycle Rodeo?
A bicycle rodeo offers a variety of activities for children to partake in that teach bicycle handling skills in a safe and contained environment. Some of the activities may appear challenging, some fun, but all of them are designed to serve a purpose so that kids will retain some of what they learn and be able to apply it to “on the street” (or path) circumstances. Activities will include “rock dodge,” “eyes behind you,” “Circle of chaos” and more. Other activities include quick bicycle safety check, helmet fittings, proper locking techniques and route finding.
This rodeo is appropriate for children 4-11, though some activities may be more/less appropriate depending on age and ability.
Pre-registration is encouraged, as is biking to the actual event! The first 50 kids who pre-register will receive a FREE goody bag, as will ALL KIDS who bike to the event. https://rec.ci.longmont.co.us/wbwsc/webtrac.wsc/wbsearch.html?wbsi=a4fd327e-5a3f-b0a2-e611-a64760dc1017
