Community, technology, and play come together Saturday, Sept. 19, as the LevelUp Longmont returns for its second year. This free, all-day esports festival takes place at the Longmont Museum.

The Longmont Library is currently recruiting event volunteers, and will soon open registration for the main Street Fighter 6 tournament. Interested players age 13 and older can sign up to play Aug. 15-29. Not interested in competing? Enjoy the free, all day festival; there’s something fun for everyone.

LevelUp Longmont is more than a gaming event. It celebrates friendly competition and digital literacy while creating a welcoming space to connect with community. At its heart, LevelUp Longmont brings people together through play, showing how games of all kinds spark curiosity, inspire creativity, build personal and professional connections, and develop skills for the 21st century workplace.

Festivalgoers can enjoy video and tabletop games, racing simulators, tech demonstrations, outdoor activities, vendor booths, food trucks and a Quest Log, a bingo-style challenge where participants earn XP for prizes. There’s also a chill-out zone and a pick-up tournament featuring Brawlhalla for kids ages 13 and younger.

The Street Fighter 6 main tournament will be held in the Museum’s Stewart Auditorium before a live audience. Teams of two will compete for the grand prize. The tournament will be livestreamed on YouTube so fans can follow the competition from any location, on any device.

LevelUp Longmont is presented by the Longmont Public Library and the Friends of the Longmont Library, in partnership with the Longmont Museum, NextLight and Longmont Public Media.
