Longmont Museum Looks to the Future at 3rd Annual Sunset Soirée
LONGMONT, Colo. – The Longmont Museum will celebrate the community’s history—and imagine its future—at the third annual Sunset Soirée on Friday, Sept. 11, from 6 to 9 p.m. The fundraising gala will bring together Museum supporters for an evening of food, music and celebration, with all funds raised supporting the Museum’s new permanent history gallery.
Set against the backdrop of Longs Peak in the Museum’s outdoor Stewart Family Courtyard, this year’s Soirée is themed “The Future of History.” Guests are invited to come dressed from their favorite decade in Longmont’s history. The evening will feature an open bar with signature cocktails, a three-course meal, and a live musical journey through time with Dave Devine & Friends. Guests will also get a special visit from Doc Brown and get to take photos in front of a real DeLorean, adding a playful glimpse into the future.
The timing of this year’s Soirée is especially significant as the Museum prepares to open the doors to its newly expanded galleries on Oct. 17. The expansion will double to size of the feature gallery and add a permanent hands-on children’s gallery, among other enhancements.
The Sunset Soirée will directly support the development of a new permanent history gallery, which will offer visitors an engaging new way to explore the people, places and stories that have shaped Longmont and the St. Vrain Valley.
“The Sunset Soirée is a wonderful opportunity to celebrate how far the Museum has come while looking ahead to what’s next,” said Longmont Museum Director Erik Mason. “Our new history gallery will help us tell Longmont’s stories in fresh and meaningful ways. The support of our community is essential to making that possible.”
Individual Sunset Soirée tickets are $100, and an eight-person table is $1,000. Space is limited, and ticket sales close Sept. 7. Tickets are available online at supportlongmontmuseum.org or by calling 303-774-4508.
