Yes, you may request that your ticket be reviewed through an informal administrative parking review process by submitting an Online Parking Citation Appeal Form or by printing and completing the Parking Citation Appeal Form. You have 20 days from the date the ticket was issued to appeal your ticket, and you will receive a decision within 20 days of your form submission. Please mail or bring your form, along with a copy of your original ticket, to the Parking Enforcement Office located at 350 Kimbark Street, Longmont, CO 80501.

You may also request a formal hearing instead of an informal administrative parking review if you are past the 20 day limit for the informal review or if you prefer to appear in person with a Hearing Officer present. To request a formal hearing, you must file a written request with the Longmont Municipal Court and pay a $25 hearing fee within 60 days from the date the ticket was issued. The hearing fee will only be refunded if the Hearing Officer determines that a parking infraction did not occur. There is no further recourse if the decision is upheld; parking tickets are a strict liability offense.

Yes, Downtown parking is currently free; however, you do need to pay attention to the time limit zones or you could receive an overtime parking ticket.

If you have 4 or more unpaid parking tickets, you will be added to the Scofflaw List, which means your vehicle can be towed. You must pay your unpaid parking tickets to retrieve your vehicle from the tow yard. Please contact us first if you have any unpaid parking tickets so we can help prevent your vehicle from being towed.

Some Downtown business owners provide parking for their employees; otherwise, most streets on the periphery of the Downtown area offer long-term-parking. Look for areas without timed parking signs. The Longmont Downtown Development Authority also manages seven parking lots in the Downtown area, and a percentage of spaces in each lot are allocated for permit parking. Parking ticket payments are due seven days from the date the ticket was written. Payments can be mailed to the City of Longmont within that time frame or can be paid at the Civic Center Complex at 350 Kimbark St, in the form of cash, check or money order between the hours of 8 a.m. and 5 p.m. Monday through Friday. You also have the option of putting your payment in the drop box West of the Civic Center. Payment by credit or debit card is not accepted. Our Parking Enforcement Officers use a variety of tools when patrolling the streets, including a License Plate Recognition (LPR) system. LPR helps officers identify vehicles in violation of overtime parking. It can also be used to identify stolen vehicles and license plates, which are reported to the Police Department.

To avoid delinquency charges, tickets must be paid within 60 days of issuance. You may pay with a credit card (in person only), or cash, check, or money order (made payable to the City of Longmont) via mail or in person at the Civic Center located at 350 Kimbark Street, Longmont, CO 80501.

If you would like to appeal the ticket, you may print and complete the Parking Citation Appeal Form. You may also request a form in person at the Civic Center. You have 20 days from the date the ticket was issued to appeal a ticket.

Permits can be purchased from the Longmont Downtown Development Authority (LDDA) at 320 Main Street, Longmont, CO 80501 or by phone at (303) 651-8484. Permit parking availability changes monthly, so please check with LDDA for more information.

If your complaint involves a junked or abandoned vehicle on private property, call Code Enforcement at (303) 651-8695. You may also call the Longmont Police at (303) 651-8555 in the evenings and on weekends. Parking Enforcement may refer you to your Beat Officer.

There are a few reasons why your vehicle may have been towed: you have 4 or more unpaid parking tickets; your vehicle is blocking access to something such as a driveway or fire hydrant; or your vehicle is junked or abandoned. A junked vehicle is a vehicle that does not have correct plates, has an expired registration, has one or more flat tires, is wrecked, and/or is incapable of moving under its own power. An abandoned vehicle is any vehicle that has not moved within a 48 hour period.
