Prescription Disposal
Longmont Public Safety receives a lot of calls from residents asking where old prescription medication can be disposed of. The following locations in Longmont take prescription medication for disposal:
- Kaiser Longmont
- 2345 Bent Way, Longmont
- Community drop-off
- Monday - Friday, 8am-6pm
- Free-standing kiosk located in the pharmacy
- Longmont Public Safety
- 225 Kimbark Street, Longmont

- Monday-Friday, 8 am-5 pm
- Bright green upright in lobby.
- All pills must be in a container. No needles, marijuana and/or chemotherapy drugs. Otherwise, it is available for your over-the-counter and prescription medications, liquid medications (sealed in the original container), prescription patches, medicated ointments and vitamins.
- Syringe and needle disposal through City of Longmont Trash select "wizard" then search "sharps"
- UC Health (Longs Peak Hospital)
- 1750 East Ken Pratt Boulevard, Longmont

- Available for drop off 24-hours-a-day / seven-days-a-week
- Drop box is located next to security at the main entrance of the Emergency Department.
- UC Health does not accept marijuana or syringes.
- Walgreens
- 1041 Main Street, Longmont. This is the only Walgreens location with a drop off.

- Pharmacy must be open in order to bring in these items. Hours: Monday - Friday from 9am - 9pm
- Accepted: prescriptions drugs, over-the-counter medications, will take both tablets and capsules, ointments or cremes, and patches
- Exclusions: no illegal drugs, no needles, no lotions or liquids, no inhalers, no aerosol cans, no thermometers, no hydrogen peroxide.
