Athletics: Short or Long-term Permits

Organized sports camps, games and practices require an Athletics short- or long-term permit. Call 303-774-4758 or email sports@longmontcolorado.gov to reserve an athletic field or court.  Fees vary.

 

Business/Commercial Use Permits

The Business/Commercial Use permit is for those who want to host outdoor camps, general interest classes, fitness classes/bootcamps, or take professional photography on public space.

 

  • The permit fee is $18 per hour per park or $65 max per park per day.  There is no fee if you are not charging customers to attend your event.
  • You do not have exclusive use of the park.
  • The number of participants cannot exceed 50 people per day.
  • Proof of Insurance with the City of Longmont named as an additional insured is required.
  • If a shelter is needed, regular rental fees apply.
  • No glass containers, no alcohol.
  • Trash must be removed; failure to comply will result in additional fees and permit may be cancelled.
  • No amplified sound. All music must be kept at a level that will not disturb the neighbors.
  • Camps bringing groups to Union Reservoir require different fees.  Email union@longmontcolorado.gov for details.

 

*Insurance (COI) requirements:

  • Combined Single Limit of $1,000,000.
  • Must name the City of Longmont, its officers, agents and employees as Additional Insureds.
  • The correct address for Certificate Holder must read:  City of Longmont, 350 Kimbark St., Longmont, CO 80501

 

At least 10 days in advance, email your facility request to sandstone.ranch@longmontcolorado.gov or call 303-651-8443. Please include the following information:

 

  1. Event times, dates and park locations of your requested events
  2. Your name and business name, mailing address, phone number and email address
  3. Are you charging a fee for participation?
  4. Anticipated attendance numbers at each event
  5. Do you need to reserve a park shelter? If yes, which shelter? Many parks have multiple shelter choices.
  6. Certificate of liability insurance

 

Staff will confirm availability of the park and issue you a facility permit.

 

Use of Public Places Permit

If you are hosting a large event, setting up a tent larger than 12’X12’, selling or serving alcohol, using or closing public streets, or utilizing amplified sound, you must instead apply for a Use of Public Places permit (UOPP) through the City Clerk’s office.

 

The UOPP permit requires a 45-day advance notice.

 

Mobile Food Vending Permit

The City permits mobile retail food establishments and pushcarts that are operating on public and/or private property within the City. An annual permit is required.
