Longmont Recreation has two year-round indoor pools, one outdoor seasonal pool, and two outdoor seasonal activity pools for younger visitors. The Longmont Recreation Center on Quail Road features an indoor slide, lazy river, and activity pool area.

Pools Closed:
The Longmont Recreation Center Pools will have planned closures April 14-27 due to maintenance work.
- April 14–20*: The lap pool and hot tub will remain open, but the leisure pool will be closed.
- *April 20, Easter Hours: 10am-3:30pm
- April 21–27: All pools and the hot tub will be closed.
During the closure, consider Centennial Pool, 1201 Alpine St, for your swimming needs. If you are enrolled in any impacted program, check your email for more information about class cancellations or location changes to the Centennial Pool.

Groups Must Be Pre-Approved
All group requests must be pre-approved to ensure there will be enough staff to ensure safety. Groups that are not pre-approved may be turned away due to staffing limitations.
Email requests to swim@longmontcolorado.gov with desired pool(s), dates, times, total number of people (swimming or not), organization name and address, and primary contact person name and phone number.

Poolside Parties

Payment: Full payment is due when reserving.
Fees: Fees depend on how many people attend, regardless of swimming. If more people show up than paid for, the extra amount will be charged, plus a $50/hour penalty. To maintain safety, not all guests may swim if the numbers exceed the orginal amount.
2025 Fees (2-Hour Minimum):
- $200/hour for up to 50 people
- $275/hour for 51-100 people
- $350/hour for 101+ people
Rental includes an additional 15 minutes for set-up and 15 minutes for clean-up.
Cancellation Policy:
- 30+ days before: $5 fee
- 15-29 days before: 50% refund
- 14 days or less: No refund
Rentals can be rescheduled with no extra fees, though availability may be limited. If the weather isn’t ideal, we may be able to move your rental to an indoor pool. Please note that once the rental begins, we’re unable to offer refunds due to weather changes

- Youth 5 & Under must have an adult (14yrs +) actively involved with them in the WATER.
- Youth 6-10 years, must have an adult (14yrs +) supervising them in the facility.
- Adult Swims are for patrons 18 years and older.
Shelter Rentals during Open Swims
Shelter and tent rentals below require a 2-hour minimum rental. Rental fees are non-refundable. Additional guests will be charged group rate admittance fee, whether or not they swim.

Main Shelter – Outdoor
- Located closest to the shallow water play area near the golf course.
- Brown shelter with 4 rectangular picnic tables.
- Fee: $120 for 2 hours and up to 15 people.
Party Room – Indoor
- Indoor room, cooled by a swamp cooler, surrounded by windows viewing the slides and diving boards.
- 2, 8’ rectangular tables and 4 round large and 3 round small tables with 35 chairs. Sink and counter space.
- Fee: $120 for 2 hours and up to 15 people.
Slide Tent – Outdoor
- Located between the slides and sand area.
- Fee: $80 for 2 hours and up to 10 people.
Grass Tent – Outdoor
- Located in the grass area across from the diving boards.
- Fee: $80 for 2 hours and up to 10 people.
Blue Shade Tents – Outdoor
- Approximately 12 x 12 feet, on concrete, with 2 round picnic tables.
- Fee: $80 for 2 hours and up to 10 people.

Concessions Stand
Concession Stand will be open from 1pm-5pm, every day of the week! Additionally, drinking fountains are always available and bottled water can be purchased at the front desk. Food can also be brought into the pool, but please, no glass containers.

Middle School Night, Every Tuesday, 7-9 pm, June & July
- For middle-schoolers and soon-to-be freshmen (11 – 14 yrs)
- $7 Longmont residents/$8.75 non-residents (recreation pass not accepted)
- Preregister online so you don’t have to wait in line. Everyone who is preregistered can enter the facility at 6:45pm and enter the water at 7 pm. Preregistration ends at 6pm on day of event. Daily drop-in payment is available at the window, and participants must show proof of age or current student ID.
- No refunds due to inclement weather.

Kanemoto Activity Pool
This heated outdoor activity pool is geared for children 10 years old and younger. Kanemoto has a zero-depth entry, chair lift entry, small water slide and 4-foot-deep end – great for jumping and swimming. An adult 14 years+ must be in the water with children 5 and younger.
If you love Kanemoto Activity Pool, you should also try Roosevelt Activity Pool at 903 8th Ave.

Roosevelt Activity Pool is a heated outdoor pool with a maximum depth of 2 ft 8 inches. It features zero-depth geysers, tumble buckets, and a spray garden. Roosevelt Activity Pool is geared for ages 8 and under.

General Rules
- Patrons must follow instructions from Aquatics Staff.
- Children 5 and under must have a guardian (14 years and older) actively involved in the water with them at all times.
→Patrons wearing PFD (Personal Flotation Devices) follow 5 & under rule.
→Guardians must pay admission fees. - Youth ages 11 & older may use the facility without a guardian.
→Youth 10 and younger must have a responsible guardian (14 yrs or older) supervising them.
→LRC Specific: Ages 6-8 years old, a guardian (14yrs or older) must be present on the pool deck. - No profanity or disrespectful comments to staff or patrons.
- Only G-rated displays of affection.
- Proper swimwear is required – no jeans, undergarments, or transparent swimwear.
- No glass containers, alcohol, cigarettes, e-cigarettes, drugs, or pets in the facility.
→Service animals are excepted. - Safety Breaks occur from :55-:05 each hour during Open Swim.
→All patrons, except adult lap swimmers, must exit the pool. - Always walk on the pool deck.
- Individuals must face towards the pool when jumping feet-first into the water.
→Flips only allowed off diving boards. - No rough play, pushing or throwing people into the pool, sitting on shoulders, or launching/throwing of people in the pool.
- Personal trainers, coaches, swim instructors, or fitness consultants other than City of Longmont employees and contractors are not permitted to train, coach, or teach, without approval of Recreation Supervisory staff.
- Patrons are not permitted in staff areas (unless receiving first aid care).
- Diaper dependent patrons must wear swim diapers or snug plastic pants under their swimsuit.
→Diapers must be changed in locker rooms, not on the pool deck or lounge chairs. - Swimmers who have had diarrhea should not use pools for at least two weeks.
- Please shower before swimming.
- Visitors with skin infections or open wounds are not allowed in the pool until healed.
- Do not drink pool water, spit, blow your nose, or expel waste into pool water or surrounding deck.
- No food, gum, or drink in the pool (except water).
- Keep all food, drink, and pool chairs at least 5 feet from the edge of the pool.

Lazy River and Leisure Pool
- Inner tubes are allowed only when less than 20 people are using the river.
- Patrons riding in the tubes must side with their bottom in the hole or hang in the middle of the tube.
→No sitting on one side of the tube, rocking the tube, or stacking tubes.
→One person per inner tube. - Patrons may not hang on the wall, and obstruct river flow.
- During open swim, patrons must go with the current.
→During Adult Swim (18 yrs +) or low usage, patrons may walk against the current. - Patrons must enter and exit the lazy river at the stairs.
→No jumping in or out at the wall. - Only two spray geysers may be plugged at one time in the zero depth entry of leisure pool.
- Do not climb up the leisure pool slides.
- No jumping off or climbing on the white tile peninsula under the slide stairs.
Hot Tub
- Children 13 and under may only use the Hot Tub under parent or guardian supervision.
→It is advised they limit their time to less than 15 minutes per soak. - It is not recommended that infants and toddlers, to be in hot tubs, due to their thin skin making them more susceptible to overheating.
- No leisure swimming in the Hot Tub.
→The Hot Tub is for sitting and soaking, not playing or submerging.
→Head should remain out of the water at all times. - No more than 16 people in the Hot Tub at once.
- Patrons may not sit on the stairs.
- No PFD’s.
Sauna & Steam Rooms
- People 14 years and older may use the heated amenities without supervision.
- Children 6-13 may use the sauna or steam room only with parent or guardian supervision.
- Children 5 and under may not use the sauna or steam room.
- Daycare groups are not permitted in the heated amenities.

Diving Board Rules
Longmont Recreation Center
- One person allowed on the diving board at a time, including the ladder.
- No catching people off diving boards.
- Jump or dive straight off diving boards.
- One bounce, then enter pool.
- No double or multiple bounces.
- No handstands, cartwheels, or bouncing bottoms.
- No flotation devices (including those built into swimwear) or goggles on the diving board.
- No throwing or catching objects off diving boards.
- No swimming in the diving area allowed while the boards are in use.
Sunset Pool
- Alert Lifeguard if you no longer want to jump off high dive. Lifeguard will assist you down.
- No diving off the side of the pool, only from diving boards.
Slide Rules
- Patrons must ride the slide one person at a time, riding feet first on their back or bottom for the entire duration of the ride.
→Sunset Specific: Riders must lay down on back with arms crossed on their chest. - Patrons may not catch people coming off the slides.
→Riders must be able to swim independently to the ropes, and exit catch pool immediately. - No floatation devices on slides.
→LRC Specific: Can use provided inner tube on purple slide. - No standing, kneeling, rolling, spinning or stopping on the slide.
- No goggles worn on slides.
- Swim wear with exposed zippers, buckles, and/or rivets are not allowed on slides.
- Patrons may not swim in the splashdown area while slides are on.
- When Aquatic Staff member at top of slide, wait for their instructions before going down slide.LRC Specific:
→A responsible adult 14 years or older may take one small child 5 years or younger on their lap down the purple slide at the Rec Center, but they may not be in a tube.
→Patrons must be 4 feet tall to ride the slides alone. Swim test options are available, check in with Aquatic Staff.
Lap Pool Rules
- Do not hang, sit, stand, or swim over the lane lines.
- Lap swimmers take priority for lap lane use over users who are playing or not swimming laps.
- Sharable lap swim equipment is for lap swim use only.
- Lap swimmers are required to share lane lines.

Outdoor Pool Weather Policy
Lightning and Thunder
- The City of Longmont uses the WeatherBug app, to track nearby lightning strikes.
- The pool will be cleared for 30 minutes after the most recent lightning striking within 8 miles of the pool.
- Sunset Pool: Staff and Patrons must seek shelter in the offices, bathhouse (inside or under awning), or under the brown shelter.
- No showers to be used in the bathhouse.
- Activity Pools: Patrons must exit the pool area, and staff seek shelter in the offices or entry awning.
- Sunset Pool: Staff and Patrons must seek shelter in the offices, bathhouse (inside or under awning), or under the brown shelter.
Pool Temperature:
- Pools will close if the water temperature drops below the state code limit of 77 degrees.
Air Temperature:
- Activity Pools
- Using the WeatherBug app, the pools will open if the temperature is predicted to reach 65 degrees by opening (usually 10am).
- If the air temperature is expected to fall below 65 throughout the day, and there is cloud coverage, the pool may close early.
- Sunset Pool
- Will strive to remain open for lap and open swim, but if the air temperature is predicted to be below 50 degrees by 10am, the pool may close early or not open for the day.
Swim Lessons at Outdoor Pools
- We strive to have swim lessons at the outdoor pools in safe inclement weather, in the above temperature ranges.
- Kanemoto Pool:
- If the air temperature is not predicted to reach 65 degrees by 10am, all swim lessons will be moved indoors to the Longmont Recreation Center leisure pool.
- Decision will be made by 9am, and participants will be notified by email of location change.
- Sunset Pool:
- Weekday Morning Swim Lessons: No changes, continue as scheduled with temperature guidelines, and in rare cases of thunder/lightning, a Safety Day will be held in the party room.
- Evening Swim Lessons:
- When the hourly forecast is checked at 3pm, and at 5pm it is predicted to be 80% or higher chance of heavy rain, and/or thunder & lightning, swim lessons will be moved to the indoor Centennial Pool.
- Participants will be notified of location change by email between 3pm-4pm, on that day.

Groups Must Be Pre-Approved
All group requests must be pre-approved to ensure there will be enough staff to ensure safety. Groups that are not pre-approved may be turned away due to staffing limitations.
Sunset Pool and Longmont Recreation Center Summer Group Swim Requests will open on March 13, 2025 through April 27, 2025. Priority will be given based on when request is recieved. Decisions will be emailed out by May 8th.
No groups at Roosevelt Activity Pool, Kanemoto Activity Pool, or Centennial Pool.
School Year Requests for the Longmont Recreation Center:
Email group requests to swim@longmontcolorado.gov with dates, times, total number of people (swimming or not), organization name and address, and primary contact person name and phone number.
