2022 CDBG CAPER

The 2022 Program Year is the third year of the City of Longmont's 5-year Con Plan (2020-2024). We made strides in FY2022 using CDBG funds in creating affordable rental homes through acquisition for development; in the Homeownership programs by providing emergency and mobile home repairs; removing impediments for households with a disabled or elderly family member; making general housing rehabilitation repairs; and providing housing counseling, consumer debt counseling, and small business development resources. We used local Affordable Housing funds to support the development construction of affordable for-rent and for-sale homes.

Table 1 within the 2022 CAPER (page 2) shows the progress to date of the Consolidated Plan and shows that we met or exceeded goals in 3 out of 9 Goal areas. Please see "Financial Overview" tab below for more specific information on actual projects undertaken in 2022.

While not all funding budgeted was spent in 2022, awards encumbered with 2022 funds will reach completion in 2023 and are expected to greatly advance our goal progress specifically for rental units’ rehabilitation.

Longmont continues to provide its CDBG, HOME, and Affordable Housing funds toward programs that not only serve all racial/ethnic minorities but serve people with disabilities and female heads of household. The City of Longmont in 2022 through its CDBG entitlement funding assisted 217 female heads of household and 59 households with a disability.
