Children Services
Create, Explore and Learn with Us!
The Library’s Children and Teen Services promotes literacy, fun, play, and life-long learning for children and teens. We offer storytimes, special events and enriching experiences for our youngest patrons that encourage learning to read, socio-emotional skills and learning about our community.
Storytimes
In addition to our regularly scheduled weekly storytimes, your Children’s Librarians often present special event storytimes on various themes to celebrate our diverse community.
Programs for Kids
Weekly and monthly activities and special events give the younger members of your family room to create and develop essential motor skills.

Older Kids

We offer programs including Homework Help, research tools and resources, seasonal book groups/author visits, and special events, along with a Text-a-Librarian service that can help you with all your book needs!
Parents, Caregivers, and Educators
Our Librarians would love to get to know you and help promote your child’s educational goals. Feel free to call the librarians at the Children and Teen Services Desk at 303-651-8477.
Children and Teen Services Manager Claire Studholme is also available for 30-minute appointments to discuss ways the Library can support your family or group. Email Claire Studholme or call 303-651-8891 to make an appointment.
In addition to the materials and services provided to parents, the Library offers many specialized resources for our partners in education:
- Field Trips and Library Tours: Please fill out our online form for a Library Tour or call us at 303-651-8477 with any questions about a class or homeschooling group visit.
- Schedule a Librarian Classroom Visit: We love to visit schools and talk about information literacy, Library resources, research skills, books and more. Call 303-651-8477 or email the Children’s & Teens’ Librarians to schedule a librarian to come to you!
- Outreach Programs: We try and bring the Library and its Librarians out to the community as much as possible. Are you part of a community group serving children and youth, do you have an event coming up? Contact us at 303-651-8477 or email the Children’s & Teens’ Librarians to connect. And watch out for us at community events!
- Classroom Resources and Book Recommendations: We have an array of print and e-collections available to check-out — all Library card holders can check out up to 99 items at a time! We will work to collaborate with educators on how to best utilize Library resources to meet student needs, however we do not purchase textbooks or class sets.
- In accordance with the Children’s Internet Protection Act, online access in our computer labs is filtered for children and young adults younger than 18.
