Pay Library Fines
The Longmont Public Library is fine free! Patrons will still be responsible for fines accrued through outside lending services such as materials borrowed via Prospector or Interlibrary Loans. Charges for any damaged or lost materials will continue to be assessed. All existing overdue fines have been forgiven, allowing patrons owing this money to start the year with a clean slate.
Library Payments and Fees
Any accounts exceeding $10 or more will be blocked from checking out until it is under $10.Accounts at or above $50 may be turned over to a collection agency and a $10 fee will be added to the account. Collection services are used as an absolute last resort, and we will always do our best to work with patrons to resolve any fine issues.
After 48 hours of Library of Things, Wi-Fi Hotspots, Chromebooks, and State Park Passes being overdue, they will be considered lost, and the patron will be charged the replacement cost of the item. We will waive replacement charges at any time the item is returned in working order with all the pieces. Please note, we will not check in items missing pieces until all the pieces are returned.
Lost Items
60 days after an item is due and has not been returned, it is deemed lost and a replacement fee is charged to the patron’s account. If an item which has been paid for is later found, no refunds can be issued, but the item becomes the property of the patron who paid the replacement fee. Please NOTE: Refunds are not permitted.
