Crime Statistics

The tables below reflect total Index Crimes (as defined by the FBI) reported to the Longmont Police Services and crime per 1,000 population for 2018-2022.

*Forcible Rapes as defined in Department of Justice Uniform Crime Reporting Handbook.

PLEASE NOTE: This is preliminary 2025 data. Crime statistics for 2020-2024 on this website were generated directly by the Colorado Bureau of Investigation (CBI) using their official reporting formulas and validation rules. Our 2025 crime statistics, however, are preliminary. Due to ongoing state-reporting system issues and the transition between reporting platforms, the City of Longmont has not yet submitted full 2025 data to CBI. As a result, the 2025 figures displayed here are calculated internally using our own Records Management System to the best of our knowledge and ability. Because CBI does not share the exact logic, expressions, or category-grouping methods they use for official UCR/NIBRS calculations, differences may exist between our interim totals and the final numbers that CBI will ultimately publish. This is not an attempt to inflate, deflate, or obscure crime totals. These numbers are simply the best representation we can provide until CBI completes its standardized review and reporting process. The City of Longmont remains committed to accuracy, transparency, and continuous improvement in how we report and share crime statistics. Updated official numbers will be posted as soon as they become available from CBI.
