Callahan House and Gardens are located at 312 Terry Street, Longmont, Colorado 80501.
Venue
- Garden tables are 5-foot rounds which seat 8 to 10 guests and require a linen tablecloth.
- Garden chairs are a mahogany resin folding chair with black seat cushion.
- Indoor tables are setup for all events, are wooden, and seat 4 guests.
- Indoor chairs are setup for all events and are cane back with burgundy vinyl cushions.
- For garden dance parties, a dance floor appropriate for your guest size will be rented for you by Callahan House. The dance floor is required for dancing in the grass.
- The south garden and gazebo are lit with market string lighting.
- Insects such as mosquitos are common in summer evenings in Colorado. You may wish to provide protection from insects to your guests.
- Our large trees provide ample shade in the late afternoon and early evening. For morning or early day weddings, you may wish to provide additional sun protection for your guests.
- Callahan House has two guest bathrooms inside the House in addition to a small bathroom in the Auto House. The two in-House bathrooms are on the lower and upper levels. The lower-level bathroom is ADA accessible.
- Only the main floor of Callahan House is ADA accessible.
- Trash and recycling services are provided by Callahan House.
Parking
- For drop off and pickup, clients may briefly park in the back alley behind Callahan House.
- Please DO NOT drive or park on either of the historic driveways belonging to Callahan House.
- Clients and guests can park in the free public parking lot on the NW corner of 4th and Terry.
- Please do not park in the Ahlberg lot directly north of Callahan House.
- There are 2 handicapped parking spots in front of Callahan House.
- Parking availability is not guaranteed.
- Callahan House is not responsible for tickets or towing of illegally parked vehicles.
Weather
- In the event of inclement weather, Callahan House cannot accommodate more than 75 guests inside. The covered porch provides shelter from rain.
- Due to the historic nature of Callahan House, large rental tables and dance floors cannot be moved inside nor is dancing allowed inside.
- Callahan House Staff and catering staff will do their best to cover tables and adjust timelines in the event of bad weather.
- Event tents are available for rent up to two weeks prior to your event and must be professionally installed by our vendor.
- We appreciate your acknowledgement that Callahan House will not be held responsible for forces outside our control, such as bad weather, street construction, neighborhood noise, power outages, etc.
Music/Sound
- There is no sounds system in the garden.
- We highly recommend hiring a professional DJ or band to enhance your special event. Ask about our DJ Package Add-On!
- Amplified music is allowed in the garden until 10pm.
- Noise is expected to be kept at a reasonable level in respect of our neighbors.
- Light jazz music can be played inside Callahan House during your event, or you can use our indoor PA to play music from a CD or device with a headphone jack which you provide. Alternatively, clients may provide a bluetooth speaker and device/playlist managed by the client.
Policies
As Callahan House is a National Historic Landmark, we ask that you please adhere to the following:
- Firearms are prohibited at all City of Longmont facilities including Callahan House and Gardens.
- Open flames, lighters, sparklers, candles, etc. are prohibited except for use by catering. Battery powered candles and lighting are welcome.
- Smoking is prohibited on the premises.
- No vehicles are allowed on the historic driveways. The back alley provides a loading zone.
- Streamers, glitter (including in clothing and fabrics), confetti, rice, seeds, fake petals, or other items that create debris are prohibited.
- Furniture and other fixtures are not permitted to be moved by clients or their guests
- Affixing any items with nails, hooks, tacks, screws, tape, or glue in any part of the building. garden, or its fixtures is not permitted.
- Flower arrangements and other large displays are prohibited on the fountain or statues.
- Children must always be accompanied throughout the Main House and Auto House. Running is not allowed inside Callahan House.
- Pets are not allowed in the Main House or Auto House and must be on leash in the gardens. Service animals with paperwork are welcome inside. Owners are expected to clean up after their pets.
- As stated in the Callahan House Alcohol Policy, alcohol may not be self-served under any circumstances, and hard liquor may not be consumed on the premises. Violation of this policy will result in confiscation of prohibited items and possible fines by the City of Longmont incurred. Kegs are prohibited.
- Callahan House cannot guarantee use of the fountain depending on first/last frost dates.
- Setup time is for house and catering staff. No guests are to be on site during setup time and are to depart at end of event time. Clients may be granted venue access up to 30 minutes before event time but must pre-arrange utilizing setup time with the House Manager.
- No refunds will be granted for any payments made towards your event if you cancel for any reason. However, we will grant one date adjustment before payments are forfeit.
- Special requests will be reviewed and approved by the House Manager.
- Callahan House reserves the right to modify these policies and information at anytime.
