Building Services

If you are planning on using any public place for the purpose of placing a fence or other improvement such as a awning, sign or canopy, including merchandise displays on public property and temporary, portable special event signs on private or public property, please contact Building Services at (303) 651-8332. You may also fill out the Building Services’ Use of Public Places Application and submit to the Building Services Division.

Special Event Permit

If you are planning on using a public place for the purpose of: conducting a special event (wedding, festival, concert, parade, bike race, car show, etc.), organizing a block party, or to sell or serve alcohol on public property, you must obtain a special event permit (also called a Use of Public Places permit) to do so.  Please visit the Special Events page or contact the City Clerk’s Office at (303) 651-8649 for more information.

Business Use of Parks & Athletic Fields

Have a business or side-gig that uses public park space to produce income? A permit is needed to host classes, camps, practices/games and competitions. Are you taking clients to a public park for graduation, wedding, or family photographs? A permit is needed even if the program is offered to participants for free. Permitting ensures public park space exists for all community users. Learn more at the Commercial Use page.
