Neighborhood Group Leaders Association
About NGLA
NGLA is a partnership between the City and a network of over 50 registered community groups, created to develop relationships and communication between neighborhoods and the City. It is a forum for community leaders to collectively identify concerns, discuss issues, resolve conflicts, and implement solutions to create healthy neighborhoods with a strong sense of community.
The network provides the knowledge and resources for engaged local residents to build upon their neighborhoods community capital (existing assets) to enhance their quality of life.
If your neighborhood is interested in joining NGLA or interested in forming a community group in your neighborhood, please contact us.
Community groups must register with the city to participate in NGLA and access unique benefits including:
- Access to informational monthly meetings and regular updates from various city departments or relevant organizations about current topics and issues affecting neighborhoods including, police, planning, public works and natural resources, the school district, LDDA, and others.
- Access to funding for community building activities (NAF) and use of free resources including canopies, chairs, a PA system, and community meeting space.
- Access to funding for large scale neighborhood improvement projects (NIP)

How do I join NGLA?
There is a specific process to join NGLA and formalize a community group. Please contact us if you are interested before proceeding.
Registered community groups must be open to all residents or property owners within the neighborhood’s defined boundaries. Homeowners Associations (HOAs) are encouraged to join NGLA as a volunteer community group that includes all residents of the community regardless of ownership status. This does not affect the HOA’s normal functions or bylaws.
For more information, to start a community group, or to register your existing group (or HOA) with NGLA please contact us.
