Stewart Auditorium
The exquisite Stewart Auditorium is ideal for conferences and large meetings, lectures, multi-media presentations, music concerts, film festivals, and avant-garde theater performances. It is a state-of-the-art, multidisciplinary performing arts venue with excellent acoustics and lighting as well as a theater-sized screen for films.
The auditorium has comfortable cushioned seats for 245 people, plus five spaces for wheelchairs. All standard auditorium rentals include the Swan Atrium, and a tech person to operate the lights and sound, dressing rooms, and black orchestra chairs, and music stands as needed. Optional add-ons include a world-class Shigeru Kawai concert grand piano and risers for choral concerts. Stage is set with black velvet curtains, which can be taken down with an additional curtain strike fee.
Rental Hours & After Hours Fee
Regular Museum hours are from 9 am – 5 pm Monday – Saturday and 1 pm – 5 pm on Sunday.
The Museum rental spaces are available from 7:30 am-10:30 pm.
For rentals extending beyond our regular Museum hours there is a $175 after-hours fee.

Rental RatesÂ
The capacity of the auditorium is 250 seats – includes 5 seats for wheelchairs
The minimum rental time is 4 hours
The Security & Damage deposit is $750
Standard Rental Rate is $1,350 for 4 hours + $325 for each additional hour
Nonprofit Rate is $1,000 for 4 hours + $225 for each additional hour
Every auditorium rental includes the lobby, which is called The Swan Atrium, as well as the two dressing rooms, a building supervisor, and one tech person to operate the lights and sound. A second tech person can be added for an additional fee.
The rental also includes:
- Projector and Screen
- Podium and Microphone(s)
- Black orchestra chairs & music stands
- Use of Kaiser C Classroom as a green room for performers
- Kitchen access for caterer
- Museum chairs and tables, as needed (Museum does not offer linens)
Add-on Bar Service Option
The museum holds a liquor license and bar service can be added to any rental agreement.

Stewart Auditorium Only
The auditorium can be rented separately for rehearsals or recordings, and does not include the Swan Atrium or a tech person
Rehearsal Rate is $900 for 4 hours + $200 for each additional hour.
Nonprofit Rehearsal Rate is $600 for 4 hours + $125 for each additional hour.

Video Streaming or Recording in Auditorium
The auditorium has three mounted Pan Tilt Zoom (PTZ) cameras and we offer an optional service to record or stream your event. The video service can record a basic live-edited recording.

How to Rent the Stewart Auditorium
If you would like to rent the Stewart Auditorium, please complete the online Rental Space Application Form by the 15th day of the month preceding the month of your event.
After receiving your application, we will check availability and get back to you within five business days. When we contact you, we will clarify any questions and give you a cost estimate so you can determine if you would like to proceed with a rental agreement. Date is not reserved or confirmed until we have received a signed rental agreement and the security and damage deposit.
