The Longmont Archives is your best place to come for Longmont history, the Chicago-Colorado Colony, information about an old building our house in downtown Longmont or any other topic about the past in Longmont. The Archives contain historic photographs, letters, diaries, maps, business records, school records and more. Our friendly staff can help you with your research.

The Longmont Museum’s archives contain more than 12,000 historic photographs of Longmont and the St. Vrain Valley. Search our online photos for a growing selection of digitized images, or come to the archives to see the full collection.

The Longmont Times-Call clipping file collection at the Longmont Museum includes approximately 400 boxes of clippings dating from 1967 to 1991, arranged in categories by the Times-Call’s librarians. All of the clippings are accessible through the Longmont Museum’s archives. Prints or scans of photos in the clipping files may be purchased through the Longmont Museum. Commercial use of photos requires the permission of the Longmont Times-Call.

The Museum also houses the video archives of the Longmont Cable Trust, which operated Longmont Channel 3, later Channel 8, from the early 1980s until 2019.
