Every year since 2005, Longmont Art in Public Places has exhibited between three and ten works of art by regional artists in various locations throughout the City as the Art on the Move program. Each artist receives a $1,000 stipend for loaning their work, and residents and visitors of Longmont get to enjoy fresh artworks each year!

The 2024 Art on the Move artwork is now on display! You can visit artworks on 4th Street between Coffman Street and Main Street, St. Stephens Plaza, and in Kensington Park off Rothrock. The 2025 new artworks will be on display in Spring 2025.

Virtual 2024 Art on the Move Public Art Tour

Artworks in Longmont’s Art in Public Places (AIPP) program are found all over our beautiful city. Downtown and Quail Campus have a special concentration of the AIPP collection. Historic photographs from the Museum are included on a variety of traffic cabinets around town. Every artwork has a story to tell, many of which use Longmont’s history to inform their function and form.

The public art virtual tours include photographs, text and audio recordings exploring familiar places like the Longmont Library and the Longmont Recreation Center. You can now check out the link below to experience these artworks from the comfort of your home or by visiting the several locations to investigate the stories that make our city unique and worth discovering!
