Stewart Family Courtyard
Open as of Summer 2025, we are excited to now offer the Museum’s newly renovated Stewart Family Courtyard for events of all kinds. The Stewart Family Courtyard is a wonderful outdoor space for receptions, weddings, parties, fundraisers, and performances with pristine views of sunsets over the Rocky Mountains.
The Stewart Family Courtyard includes the stage, lawn, and patio for a maximum capacity of 700 people.
The Courtyard Patio is also available to rent separately for smaller gatherings for up to 200 people.
Use of the full Courtyard includes:
- The stage
- Audio and tech support
- Speakers, microphones, and other performance equipment.
- Outdoor benches and tables
- Kitchen access
Weather Contingency
The Longmont Museum’s programs such as our Summer Concert Series, are are rain or shine events. However, due to how Colorado weather can be unpredictable, a poor weather contingency plan can be discussed for events scheduled in the Courtyard. A contingency plan example would be to move the event inside to the Swan Atrium, Kaiser C Classroom, and/or Stewart Auditorium. The indoor capacity of the Museum is less than the outdoor capacity, meaning if you event has a planned attendance of more than 300 such a contingency may not be possible. If you have any questions or concerns about a weather contingency, please contact the Museum’s Rentals Team.
Some materials are available for use in the Stewart Family Courtyard for an additional fee
A rental of the Stewart Family Courtyard includes one member of the Longmont Museum’s tech staff to oversee the tech and sound needs for the duration of your event. If you are in need of additional support a second member of our tech staff can be added to your rental for $45 per hour needed.
Because the Stewart Family Courtyard is a large outdoor space, the associated fees for bar service differ slightly.
The Bar Setup Fee for the Courtyard is $250. The higher fee is required as the Museum will provide additional staff to monitor the Courtyard gates to ensure no alcohol leaves the Museum property in adherence to our liquor license and all applicable laws and regulations.
If an organization is able to provide 2 volunteers to monitor the gates, the Bar Setup Fee will return to $150. However, if the lower bar setup fee is agreed upon and no volunteers are provided by the event organizer, the full Bar Service Minimum Deposit of $300 will be forfeit.
Rehearsal time without tech is charged at a different rate than a standard rental. Please contact the Museum Rentals Team for more information.
